On Saturday, April 25, 2009, I happened to be walking around the city and passed Madison Square Garden where lots of Grateful Dead fans were pacing about looking for tickets to the show.

This is what Ralph's Discount City looks like now. It's on Chambers Street between Broadway and Church in Manhattan. I have fond memories of the store because it's where my mother would get candy at a discounted price, after her workday, and bring it home for me.
The store is now closed forever after 45 years in business and the building will be destroyed for luxury condos.

I never go out on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) because I dislike the crowds. This year, I forced myself to go to Macy's on 34th Street and take pictures of the people brave enough to shop on this day.
