On Friday, May 24, 2019, Filthy Friends and Dressy Bessy performed at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. Filthy Friends 12 date tour in support of their new album Emerald Valley. I shot the show for Music Existence and the gallery is now available here.
Kiri Oliver discusses how to become a TV music booker in 29 steps, thanks to her experience as booking musical guests for “The Chris Gethard Show.”
An image that I took during an episode titled “All Hands on the Bad One” (featuring the band Sleater-Kinney and musical guests Priests) runs with her essay for The Talkhouse here. It’s mentioned in the 14th step.
More images from that episode are available on Flickr here.
Above photos are from Sleater-Kinney's final New York City concert at Webster Hall on August 2, 2006. The band is splitting up after their final shows in their hometown of Portland, Oregon later this month. The show was recorded for a DVD release and I will miss them very, very much. Over the years, I've managed to see them play a variety of New York venues large and small such as Warsaw, Southpaw, Roseland, Irving Plaza, Madison Square Garden, Mercury Lounge and even next to the Cyclone rollercoaster in Coney Island.
Two of the above photos appear in the Rolling Stone blog review and Productshop NYC. The show's setlist (and a great review) is available at at Fluxblog.org. A few additional pictures are available in this Flickr set. Farewell, ladies.
